We hope the PM walks the talk and shows his commitment to the people of Karnataka who have been reeling under successive drought for the past few years. Drought and floods in some parts of the state have had a severe impact on agricultural crops and the farming community in general.
Waiving off loans has been a loud demand in the face of these hardships. The state government has set up cabinet sub-committees to review the on ground situation, and one hopes the demand for loan waiver receives its due. Moreover, most farmers in the state have taken loans from nationalised banks. Why doesn’t the Central Government consider waiving off these loans? Why doesn’t it use the stated gains from demonetisation for the benefits of farmers?
In any case, one hopes the upcoming meeting between the leaders results in the much sought after financial aid for Karnataka. We have been asking and asking, Modi Ji. Pleading ignorance isn’t a good look. Even for you.
